    Depressive disorders can be characterized by sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, feelings of tiredness, and poor concentration. Depression is a frequent psychiatric disorder, with an approximate lifetime prevalence of 10% in the general population. Postpartum depression is defined as a depression affected the mother following childbirth typically arising from the combination of hormonal changes, psychological adjustment to motherhood, and fatigue, postnatal depression.
