Although lupus can affect any part of the body, the skin symptoms include red patches or ring shapes on the skin, sunburn-like rashes on the nose and cheeks, or circular rashes that don't itch or hurt. Other symptoms may accompany these, such as headaches, fever, fatigue and swollen, stiff or painful joints.
