Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy ( CBT) is a method of talking therapy which can be used to treat people with a widespread range of mental health difficulties.  CBT aims to help people become aware of when they make negative assumptions, and of behavioral patterns which reinforce the skewed thinking. Cognitive therapy helps people develop alternative ways of thinking and behavior aimed at reducing their psychological suffering. The cognitive theory claims that mental illness is triggered by distorted cognitions of others, our world and ourselves. This deficient thinking could be due to cognitive deficiencies (lack of planning) or cognitive distortions (inaccurate processing of information.  Specifically, our thoughts decide our emotions and our behavior. Clinical behavioral therapy is based on a psychopathology cognitive framework. The cognitive model explains how circumstances affect people 's impressions of, or random thoughts about, their mental , behavioral (and sometimes physiological) reactions. Cognitive behavioral therapy ( CBT) is a type of therapeutic treatment which has been proven to be effective for a variety of issues including depression , anxiety disorders, issues with alcohol and substance use, marital problems, eating disorders and serious mental illness.
