Hydatid disease is an infection caused by a type of microscopic tapeworm. Hydatid disease is caused by the tapeworm species is Echinococcus species. They are found mostly in animals such as cats, dogs, and foxes. This disease can be caused by the accidental ingestion of the eggs of the tapeworm. The disease does not create any critical condition in humans but results in the formation of the cyst. The cyst is formed in organs such as the brain, liver, and lungs. The symptoms of hydatid disease are abdominal pain and weight loss. The treatment of this disease can be minor surgery to remove the cyst that is present in the human organs. The precaution of this disease is to develop personal hygiene.
