Mastitis is the inflammation present under the breast and the udder of the women. This condition is usually caused due to breastfeeding. The major symptoms of mastitis include the redness and pain in the breast and the udder. The other symptoms of this condition are fever and soreness. Mastitis is seen in few months after breastfeeding. An abscess can also be formed. Using breast pumps can be the main reason for the mastitis. Mastitis is caused by the species of bacteria is staphylococcus. The effect of this condition in the long term can lead to the poor latch and the crackled nipple. The prevention of mastitis includes the proper breastfeeding method. The mastitis can be cured with antibiotics.
