Perinatal Medicine

Prenatal care, also referred to as antenatal care, may be a sort of preventive healthcare. Its goal is to supply regular check-ups that allow doctors or midwives to treat and stop potential health problems throughout the course of the pregnancy and to market healthy lifestyles that benefit both mother and child. During check-ups, pregnant women receive medical information over maternal physiological changes in pregnancy, biological changes, and prenatal nutrition including prenatal vitamins. Recommendations on management and healthy lifestyle changes also are made during regular check-ups. The supply of routine prenatal care, including prenatal screening and diagnosis, has played a neighborhood in reducing the frequency of maternal death, miscarriages, birth defects, low birth weight, neonatal infections and other preventable health problems. There are some ways of adjusting health systems to assist women access antenatal care, like new health policies, educating doctors and health service reorganisation. Community interventions to assist people change their behavior also can play a neighborhood . Samples of interventions are media campaigns reaching many of us , enabling communities to require control of their own health, informative-education-communication interventions and financial incentives. A review watching these interventions found that one intervention helps improve the amount of girls receiving antenatal care.
