Thermal Energy

Thermal energy refers to many distinct physical concepts, like the interior energy of a system; heat or sensible heat, which are defined as styles of energy transfer (as is work); or for the characteristic energy of a degree of freedom in a very thermal system kT, where T is temperature and k is that the Boltzmann constant. In thermodynamics, heat is energy in transfer to or from a thermodynamic system, by mechanisms aside from thermodynamic work or transfer of matter. Heat refers to a quantity transferred between systems, to not a property of anybody system, or 'contained' within it. On the opposite hand, internal energy may be a property of one system. Heat and work rely on the way during which an energy transfer occurred, whereas internal energy could be a property of the state of a system and may thus be understood without knowing how the energy got there.
