Wound healing refers to the substitution of destroyed tissue by living tissue to a living being. Many instances of tissue healing can also be improved , particularly on the face of a being, with the living tissue of another being. The epidermis (surface layer) and dermis (deeper layer) form a protective barrier against external environment in undamaged skin. The wound healing process is not only complex but also delicate, and is prone to disruption or failure that leads to the development of chronic wounds that are not healed. Diabetes, venous or arterial disease, infection and old-age metabolic disorders are factors that lead to the non-healing of chronic wounds.
