Traditionally, the teeth with carious pulpal exposure are usually treated with root canal therapy. Though the current success rate of RCT is higher due to the advent of newer materials and instruments it weakens the tooth structure and the integrity of tooth always remains on the stake. The arrival of new biocompatible material based on tricalcium silicates like Biodentine and MTA are becoming more popular due to its promising effect on hard tissue formation and healing process. We have used the Biodentine after pulpotomy of the ten permanent teeth with caries-exposed pulp but otherwise vital. The exposures were confirmed by periapical radiograph and during clinical caries excavation. The vitality was confirmed by pulp sensitivity test and bleeding during the excavation of pulp chambers. Periapical status of all the teeth was normal with complete root formation. After administering the local anesthesia and application of rubber dam the pulp chambers of the teeth were fully opened and cleaned with spoon excavator and 2.5% sodium hypochlorite. The hemostasis was achieved with normal saline-soaked cotton pellet applied for one minute. The pulp chambers were filled with biodentine and teeth were immediately restored. The teeth were assessed clinically through pulpal sensitivity tests and radiographically for periapical healing. At each visit no spontaneous pain was observed; the pulp showed signs of vitality and absence of periapical radiolucency.
