Abstract :

Nowadays it is easy to hear about digital dentistry. It starts with the purchase of an intraoral scanner, then a cbct, and then a milling machine or a 3d printer. But the real problem is the management of 3d data within our studio and the organization over time. The solution is the digital patient ™ i.e., the digital bio copies of the real patient. The basic unit is made up of the 3d master files, i.e., intraoral and extraoral 3d data joined together through an alignment performed during the scanning phase. To the basic unit which by convention we call digital patient ™ zero, other 3d files are gradually added, such as a surgical template, a bite, a wax-up, a crown, etc. There is no limit to files that can be added and aligned to the 3d master files. The digital patient™ 3d master files must be updated whenever there is a change in the patient's mouth: for example, an avulsion or a dental filling. The fundamental concept is the update of the digital patient™ which allows you to have the updated version of the patient with you to monitor over time. Emergencies can be managed intelligently and quickly: if the patient is on vacation, it is possible to send the most updated version of the digital patient™ via email and allow the patient to choose the closest colleague for treatment. The digital patient allows you to perform diagnoses, projects, and checks asynchronously: anywhere and anytime. It is a game changer in the digital dentistry of the future. Recent Publications: 1.
