Introduction: Gastric Cancer was until the 1980s the most frequent cancer all around the world, and it still remains even nowadays one of the most frequent and aggressive malign tumors, having the power to cause annually an amazingly high number of deaths and affected people. Equipment and methods: This paper aims to present a retrospective analytical study performed on a batch of 163 patients diagnosed with gastric neoplasia. Different parameters were analyzed: demographic parameters, biologic parameters, morphological and operating parameters, the main goal being that of showing the possibility of administrating a curative treatment versus a palliative one to all the patients that were diagnosed with primary gastric neoplasia. Results: Most of the gastric tumors were diagnosed at the level of the antrum, 49% of the cases being defined by T3 tumor types. The Ki-67 index had various values, with an average of 39.57%, indicating a moderate degree of cell proliferation. The hemoglobin and albumin low values were associated to a higher possibility of postoperative complications and reinterventions. The main surgical intervention was the subtotal gastrectomy. Moreover, 75.4% of the cases went through a surgical intervention with a curative aim, while 24.5% needed a palliative intervention. Conclusions: The high number of the cases that went through a curative intervention emphasizes the efficiency of the early diagnosis and the success of the applied surgical methods. Even so, it remained a significant percentage of 24.5% of patients that were cured palliatively due to the late diagnosis, patients that presented themselves too late for a diagnosis, patients that already were in advanced phases (III, IV). The surgical ambition that had a radical purpose was acquired on a positively astonishing percentage which, however, still remains open to improvement. To improve the results, the early diagnostic is considered one of the main solutions.
