Although around 80% of Ethiopians frequently use traditional medicine of which over 95% are of plant origin, little is known about the extent and types of medicinal plants used during pregnancy. The aim of this study was therefore to investigate and describe the use of medicinal plants during pregnancy among women admitted at the Jimma University Medical Center (JUMC) maternity and gynaecology wards in Jimma city in the southwest Ethiopia.
