A 49-year-old woman who presented with polyneuropathy, monoclonal plasmaproliferative disorder, organomegaly, edema, endocrinopathy, papilledema, clubbing and thrombocytosis was diagnosed with POEMS syndrome. The authors treated the patient with thalidomide-based therapy, which led to a marked improvement of POEMS syndromerelated symptoms.
